They needed the office live by Friday. We quoted a clean UniFi build, tightened the scope to what the room needed, and locked the on-site day.
Why UniFi instead of keeping Meraki
The space already had Meraki gear in the rack. Meraki wants a license forever. Miss a renewal and the hardware basically stops doing its job. For a small office, that was not worth it. We went UniFi: solid business Wi-Fi and switching without the ongoing license tax.
What we did
- Existing cable paths stayed put. APs remounted off metal ductwork.
- Ports tested and labeled. Rack cleaned up so it was serviceable.
- Conference room AV wiped and reconfigured for Meet, Zoom, or Teams.
- Eight desks checked on gear they already owned, cables cleaned up, tested on Windows.
Timeline
Midweek go-ahead. Live for Monday. A good fit for ongoing Managed IT afterward.
